Get In the Best Shape of Your Life

How to Prepare for Your First Day of Boot Camp

Congratulations on deciding to take your physical fitness to the next level by joining the WWM Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp. Oftentimes getting started is the hardest part of getting fit and now that you’ve committed to getting in the best shape of your life, the following tips will help you get the best out of our boot camp.

“Homework”

Even before you set foot on the “battle grounds” of our boot camp, there are a few things that you can do at home to aid in your success.

  • Take “before” photos. With the Workout with Millionaire Fitness Boot Camp, it’s only a matter of time before you really start to see results – but those results will sneak up on you and if you don’t take photos before you start, you’ll end up regretting it in the end.  You’ll never have to show anyone your “before” pics, but having them will show that hard work truly pays off.
  • Eat clean. In the fitness world there’s a saying “Eat clean and train dirty!” As you train with us, you’ll feel your body pulling for energy and nutrients. If your body is filled with whoo-hahs, ding-dongs, and knick-knacks, you’ll surely pay for it on the “battle field”. Eat a healthy breakfast, drink lots of water, watch portion sizes, and be sure to eat high energy foods like fruit, nuts, etc. approx. an hour before the boot camp begins. Oatmeal in the morning, a healthy lunch, and a banana while in transit is an inexpensive and sure way to go.
  • Write down your goals. Getting thinner, more toned, losing belly fat, and dropping a few pants sizes are common goals, but in order to get the best out of this program, you’ll need to be more specific. How many lbs do you want to drop? What’s your ideal body fat percentage? What size jeans would you like to fit into? Would you like to run a marathon? Are you trying to wing yourself off of “meds”? Your goals are personal and it’s best that you write them down in advance.
  • Be prompt. “Being on early is being on time and being on time is being late”. Be sure to make it to the boot camp early in order to sign in and get prepared for a great workout. The boot camp starts at 5:30pm and it’s best to show up 5-10 minutes before then.

What to Wear?

The Workout with Millionaire Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp is about having fun, building teamwork, and crushing fitness goals, but it is a “Boot Camp” – and if you’re coming it’s best to “come correct”.

  • Ladies, your bra and workout shoes are the most important parts of your wardrobe. Wear workout shoes that are comfortable on your feet [no stilettos, crocs, or sandals] and make sure that your bra is supportive even while under constant moving.
  • When it comes to clothes, functionality is more important than fashion. Sure there are matching shoes, bottoms, and tops – but we’re here to workout, sweat, and even get a little dirty from time to time. Wear clothes that are comfortable and fabrics that breathe: sweats, capris, shorts (skorts), tank tops, etc.
  • Hair and makeup? Unless you’re coming straight from work or another function, makeup and well-kept hair isn’t necessary. Put your hair in a pony, wrap, whatever and rest assured that sweat is the only makeup needed for this boot camp.
  • Come prepared to workout. We’re at the park and there are no changing rooms, so come already prepared to bust a sweat.
  • No jeans… ever.

What Should You Bring?

The great thing about this boot camp is that no workout equipment is required. Sure, bringing a yoga mat and maybe a pair of workout gloves is a plus, but they’re not required. With that being said, there are two things that you absolutely MUST bring with you during the Workout with Millionaire Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp – a WATER BOTTLE and a TOWEL. The workouts in this boot camp are intense and, trust me, during the short breaks between exercises your towel and water bottle will be your best friends and most important items on Earth at the moment. It’s also in your best interest to come sporting a heart rate monitor.

Bring a Buddy

While we’re on the subject on what to bring; bringing a buddy to workout with is definitely the best way to go. You and your friends have been talking about getting in shape for a while, so why not do it together? This program encourages teamwork through group and “buddy” (partner) exercises – making the WWM Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp a great opportunity for you and your “girlfriends” to cross the finish line together. Besides, bringing a friend also qualifies you for discount training sessions.

How to get the Most Out of Each Workout

Showing up to the WWM Outdoor Fitness Boot Camp is only half the battle – to get results; you’ll have to do the work. Keep these tips in mind to get the most out of every exercise.

  • Engage your core! Contract your abdominal muscles throughout each exercise for the best results.
  • Never sacrifice form. Each exercise will be demonstrated with correct form along with modified exercises. Remember “quality over quantity” and if you feel that you can’t maintain proper form, try the modified moves or take a “breather”.
  • Rest only when needed. To see real results you’ll have to defeat your toughest opponent; yourself. While exercising there will be a non-stop voice in your head begging you to stop, telling you that you’ve done enough, or trying to convince you to half-ass each rep – overcome that voice by giving your all and proving it wrong.
  • Listen to your body. Be sure to ignore that annoying voice in your mind, but pay very close attention to what your body is telling you. If you feel a sprain in your foot, a tweak in your back, a crook in your neck, etc.; listen to it, modify your workouts accordingly, or sit it out.
